‘Flies Foul Food’, 1944 (c).

British Army medical information poster, after Second Lieutenant Stacey Hopper, published, 1944 (c).

The poster warns of the danger to health of leaving food uncovered for flies to contaminate. It was aimed, in particular, at troops on active service in North Africa during World War Two.

The text reads: ‘Your health depends on wholesome food - keep it covered from flies!’
